God’s Country

This past week was a slower one. We visited God’s Country RV Resort in Shreveport, Louisiana. We enjoyed the large playground near our campsite. It was built under a large shelter so the whole thing was shaded. That was wonderful in the 80° heat! We met a cute, fluffy cat that Reya wanted to bring home. She didn’t understand why Socks wouldn’t want a new friend. Kai and Reya also got to play with some other kids that were on the playground.

Almost every day we went in the pool. This was a good week for the kids to do some swimming lessons, and they both did great! Reya brought her princess dolls with her and had fun ‘rescuing’ Cinderella. Kai did some cannonballs without his life jacket and built up his confidence with swimming by the pool’s edge. We also had a bit of a physics lesson when Kai realized that blocking one water jet made the others shoot up a bit higher. There’s learning everywhere!

During this week we finalized the kid’s Halloween costumes. I won’t spoil the fun now, but they’re both very excited. Also at this resort was a basketball area that was pretty much always empty. Kai and Reya had fun playing soccer with the basketball as well as trying to make some baskets. I’d say Reya had more luck with that goal than Kai, but Reya also had more help!

Since this week was more relaxing and logistical there’s not much else to report. We’re very much looking forward to our next stop, which will be the location we’re at for Halloween!
