We said goodbye to Stella Mare and Galveston Island after a month long stay! We met up with my parents at this resort to spend time together as well as celebrate Christmas and bring in the New Year together. It was nice to be able to relax and enjoy the warmer weather. The kids LOVED the heated pool – we spent many hours swimming. Kai had swim lessons with daddy and is able to swim without a life jacket now! Both kids got a snorkel set for Christmas and Kai had fun learning how to use it. Another fun Christmas present was a new big kid bike for Kai since he learned how to ride a bike with no training wheels! He has been having a blast zooming around the campgrounds and has enjoyed having more freedom to do so on his own.

We also spent some time at the beach (how could we not?). The sand was really nice, and we discovered the quicksand aspects of the sand near the shore. The more you stood in one spot, especially if you moved your feet a little, the more you’d sink in. Pa and Kai had fun getting to their ankles and then pulling themselves back out. Beach toys were used for fun play in the sand. Kai got a new NERF Vortex football that he had fun throwing back and forth with Dustin. We also did a nighttime walk on the beach as a family. It was fun for us adults, though Kai and Reya were freaked out by dead crabs and a dead bird (yikes).

As we were rounding out our time here at Stella Mare RV Resort, I finally got a chance to see the resort alligator! He was sunning himself opposite the office. Overall we would absolutely recommend this resort. It was beautiful, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the facilities were top notch. The Galveston Island area was also a wonderful place to explore. We enjoyed biking around the seawall and, as mentioned, the beach!
