With this lifestyle there are definitely some less glamorous days. These times include travel days, though they are necessary to get to one fabulous location to the next. This latest travel day had us travel through the northern Arizona mountains through snow, which was reminiscent of being home in MN. We were, however, glad when we drove out of it! This travel day was also a work day, so I had my laptop up and running with our Starlink to be able to maintain productivity. That is, until Socks came out from hiding under the kid’s seat and decided I was a nice sitting area.

We also celebrated Valentine’s Day with our group of friends this year. Four of us are staying at the same campground with another family nearby, so we set up a Valentine’s Day party for the kids. Each kid got to hand out Valentine’s of their choosing and then got to have fun hanging out and eating delicious chocolate covered strawberries that one of the girls made! It’s always so special when the kids are able to celebrate a holiday with friends and traditional activities, even if the location is different every year. The girls also did a great job decorating the party site with streamers and heart stickers!

Another AWESOME perk of being with other families is that Dustin and I are able to take advantage of babysitting services with people we trust (and that Kai and Reya enjoy spending time with). All of us grown-ups snuck off to Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria for an after dinner drink (or two) to celebrate the holiday. It’s so nice to be able to spend time as adults without worrying about our children running amok. It was a lovely evening to a wonderful day full of love and friendship. Happy (belated) Valentine’s Day!
