On our way home from Page, AZ, we made one very grand stop: The Grand Canyon. It was really cool to see something that has such an impact. I don’ t think you’re able to truly understand how large and wide and vast the Grand Canyon is until you’re there. We started our journey at the watchtower. We timed it just right that our (large) group was able to go up together after a short wait (they only let a certain number of people up at a time due to fire codes, and they have to come down before the next can go up). It was really cool to see the old tribal art that was recreated on the walls. The watchtower also gave us some really great views all around!

We stopped at most stop points along the journey and made sure to soak in the experience. It was fun to see snow, with which the boys had a snowball fight (of course). The weather, while a bit cool, was great to be able to see for a long distance and get some pretty great photos. Plus the cooler weather meant there weren’t too many people. We did see one foreign tourist backing their rental into a spot the wrong way in a one way circle (making physical contact with another car to do so). You know, the kind of one-way traffic circle with the parking spots angled toward the way you come in. It was both alarming and entertaining to watch. Overall we would recommend the Grand Canyon at least once in your life. It’s a great testament to the natural beauty of the US.
