Not a house but a HOME

Well, I told you the next update would be a good one! This past week, we drove down to Indiana to pick up our new Brinkley! The purchasing process with the RV dealership was far less than ideal, but finally, after two days of waiting around at the dealership, we were able to get the keys and stay our first night in a campground. It’s been a learning process for sure, but we are so excited and feel so blessed to be able to start our journey. It’s been a long year of planning, downsizing, researching, and selling the house, but we have faith that it’ll be worth it in the long run.

So far, the kids have enjoyed sharing their bedroom and are excited to have big bunk beds (they upgraded from a full-size bed in our house to a queen sized bed in the RV). Dustin and I have loved everything about the Brinkley so far and are getting used to all the processes for setting up the campsite, tearing it down, and traveling. We have also learned the hard way to double-check our patio door. We were driving away from the dealership service center to begin our trip back to our Minnesotan home base when our patio door opened up in transit. We didn’t know about it until a good Samaritan flagged us down just before we entered the highway. THANK YOU, SIR. May the universe send you LOTS of good karma! Luckily, there were no accidents, and because we’re not fully moved in, there was nothing that could fly out the back. You can be sure we won’t make that mistake again.

I’m sure there will be lots of learning experiences in our future, but we’ll get through them together and emerge stronger. Now we’ll make it to our home base to install the washer and dryer, internet satellite, and move in fully!
