Anyone that knows me knows that I love to read. For the past few years I’ve been enjoying fantasy books in particular. Anyone who knows me recently also knows that I have been really enjoying exercise and fitness. I began tracking my workouts after Reya was born, so it’s been four years of consistency.
I started seeing Whimsy Forge posts on social media a while back. Whimsy Forge is a community that offers fantasy-themed fitness programs so you can train as if you were a female main character (FMC). This is right up my alley, so 8 weeks ago I bit the bullet and signed up. Guys, it’s been SO MUCH FUN. The program I’m doing now is themed around dragon riders. Whimsy Forge also offers creative tutorials, which I followed to make my own dragon scale corset and arm bracers.
So, with my new katanas for training and my new fashion accessories, I requested a photoshoot from my good friend Jackie, who owns Four Directions Photography. The results are AMAZING. For me, this photoshoot was a culmination of the hard work I’ve been doing for my fitness journey and a dream come true of stepping into the pages of a killer fantasy world. It’s so empowering to do what brings you joy and not care who sees (in my case: not hiding in the bushes when another hiking group goes by). If you find yourself debating whether you should do something that really calls to you, don’t let self doubt hold you back! Now… enjoy Jackie’s beautiful work!
