Yosemite Falls

While we were staying at the Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne, CA, we visited Yosemite National Park. It was about a 2.5 hour drive from the campground, but it was worth it! The first day we went we got to explore the area around Yosemite Falls. We started with the lower Yosemite Falls hike. This was a nice, paved path that took you to the first part of the falls. It was pretty and the kids enjoyed the easy hike. We went back to the truck for our cooler lunch and had to wave on more than one vehicle that was waiting for our parking spot. Afterwards we headed to the shuttle stop. Kai had found a stick and taught himself how to flip it around and catch it again, so he taught Reya (tried to, anyway) while we were waiting for a bus to take us to the upper falls hike.

The upper falls hike was considerably more strenuous. It was a lot of switchback trails taking us up in elevation. Daddy robot got a good workout, alternating between Kai and Reya rides. The views were incredible! This hike takes you up parallel to Yosemite Falls and then over the falls. We didn’t make it all the way up, but I’d say we got at least 75%! We got to see a wide panorama of the mountains mixed in with the trees and water below. Overall this Yosemite day went really well and we enjoyed our first taste of the park.
