As we say goodbye to Lake Tahoe, I wanted to share a few more of our memories. The kids and I spent an afternoon at the beach with our friend group. Kai and Reya both got rides on our friend’s paddleboard with one of the teenagers. They paddled out to a buoy where some of the braver kids climbed up and jumped off into the lake. Kai and the rest of the boys spent time digging a large hole in the sand. Reya sunbathed while she ate her charcuterie lunch.
We also enjoyed our campground. There was a nice playground with some cornhole boards, large swing set, a tether ball (Kai proudly beat Dustin), and even a giant hamster wheel that the kids had fun running in. Closer to our site was a giant plastic tetris (a la Costco) that we spent time stacking on, as well as a ping pong table, at which we tried to teach Kai that you don’t always need to show off your muscles.

Finally, I was able to sneak away for an active girls’ afternoon. We went to the Blue Granite Climbing Gym and spent a few hours climbing the auto belay routes, which was SO MUCH FUN! Then, because we had an Aerial Lyra class booked later, we took a break for charcuterie and board games within the gym’s break area. It was good to take a break, rest our arms, and enjoy some games with friends. Then we all laughed at ourselves in Aerial Lyra. Turns out that it is not something that I will eagerly repeat (let’s just say I had bruises where you don’t want to have bruises!). We all had a lot of fun though, and if you can’t laugh at yourself and enjoy time with your friends, are you even doing life right?
Overall we would recommend the Lake Tahoe area and the Tahoe Valley Campground. We’ll be returning someday, that’s for sure!
