As a perpetual tourist, there’s something a bit odd about doing tourist attractions. That being said, we still went to the Trees of Mystery in Klamath, California. This is a nature attraction where you walk through a path in the trees, seeing uniquely named or shaped trees along the way. We sat at the entrance for a bit while waiting for another family to arrive, where there’s a giant Paul Bunyan and Babe statue. The fun part was the speaker hidden inside, so Paul could talk to and interact with the kids. They shouted lots of questions at him (why is Babe blue, where are you from) and he had some fun answers. He even asked them not to sit on his foot because “it hurt”. That was pretty cool. We also took a sky gondola up to the top of the hill to see the views. Kai and Reya thought it was pretty cool to ride in and enjoyed the views.

Along the path there’s also a sky bridge so you can walk among the tree canopy, which was pretty cool. We got to enjoy the swinging planks beneath our feet while the children all ran ahead. We came across chainsaws anchored in some tree trunks that the kids also enjoyed playing around with. Overall this was a pretty cool place. At the end of the trail were wood carvings telling the life story of Paul Bunyan (with speakers near the statues). It was informative, though the kids lost interest pretty quick. We felt it was pricey, but ultimately worth going.
