Independence Day

Our 4th of July this year was a bit different than in years past where we could see fireworks from our back porch. We were in Silver Creek, Washington. We started the festivities by visiting the Mossyrock parade. It was fun to see some of the old vehicles in the parade, though Kai and Reya thought the fire engines were too loud! The kids collected candy which we then donated.

When we were back to the campground, we broke out sparklers! All the kids had a lot of fun with them. We attempted to view fireworks from the hill at the top of our campground, but mistimed them. We got to see a few different cities’ shows from our vantage point in the distance, but didn’t see any nearby. It was an incredible view, though. The kids had fun dressing up as law enforcement and shooting Nerf guns while we waited. Overall it was a pretty low key day.
