It’s Christmas!

No, not really. We did stay at a campground in Christmas, Michigan, though! We went to enjoy the Upper Peninsula and pause before continuing down to see family in the lower portion of the state. We got to put our toes in Lake Superior and play at the beach. We all found some pretty cool stones on the lakeshore. Kai and Reya took turns trying to operate the pump water fountain at a local roadside park. Kai got it going, Reya needs more bodyweight!

We also did a nature hike in the area. We were able to see Miner’s Castle, a rock formation on the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. We were on the viewing platform right above it, as well as way up the shoreline from it. Our timing worked out that we could see a sailboat going by.

We also got to see a bit of the circle of life. While walking down to the overlook, we saw a couple standing and staring at the fence. Then we realized they were watching a bee being trapped and wrapped by a spider. Kai was particularly interested in watching the fight. It was a pretty cool demonstration of nature. Overall we all enjoyed the Munising town and area. We’ll be back someday!
