Our next stop was Bay City. This is close to where I grew up with my family, and close to where one of my brothers still lives. We got to spend the whole Labor Day weekend with one of my best friends and her son, as well as my whole family. It was a chaotic weekend, for sure, but so much fun! Kai got to rescue a slug that was on our outdoor rug one morning. He was also able to start learning how to knit from my friend! He’s been asking to learn for a while, but Dustin and I don’t know how and we haven’t found a good beginner kit yet, so this was pretty exciting for Kai. We also hosted a birthday party for my nephew and grilled some burgers and hot dogs for everyone. There was glow items galore at night, and Kai had fun wearing them all at once!

We also went to the splash pad that’s right across from the campground. The kids all had so much fun, especially playing with their cousins! Reya and Callie are thick as thieves when they visit and especially had fun together. They even made a new (very skinny) friend at the ice cream shop we stopped by. It was one of those rare moments when the whole Schramily gets together, so there was lots of photo documentation. Overall we loved this love-filled weekend celebrating Labor Day and a birthday.
